Our Mission

empowering recovery for all

empowering recovery for all

Domàni, meaning “tomorrow” in Italian, bloomed from our own experiences dealing with eating disorders. Our mission is to provide support to kids struggling with an eating disorder at any stage, and our approach is unique and rooted in our own recovery successes. We employ both art and sports - two things that helped us immensely - in the fight against this horrible condition. By teaming up with local artists and well-known sports performance training facilities, we have developed a formula that we hope can help kids in the midst of their battles. We employ creativity in conjunction with physical fitness to accomplish our goals, which are peace, comfort, and eventual recovery. We strive for incremental improvement while creating the foundation for a better tomorrow - to heal both Mind and Body because one cannot live without the other.

Our Founder

Lexi Lawin, Founder

As a current 17-year-old Chicago student-athlete and fellow recoverer, Lexi Lawin founded Domàni in 2025. Admitted to an eating disorder facility in 2024, the summer before her sophomore year, Lexi's journey was not unlike many other people she has met since embarking on Domàni. She stayed in the treatment center 7 days a week for 4 months, missed 8 weeks of her sophomore year of high school, and after discharge, realized the fight was just beginning.

For a year, she doubted whether or not she would emerge from her disorder, or at least be able to occasionally separate herself from it. The loneliness, the depression, the physical and mental pain, and exhaustion are all feelings she is intimately aware of.  After the ups and downs and steady and dramatic improvement, along with incredible knowledge gained, she is now utilizing her experiences to help others.

While in treatment, her favorite group sessions were always the ones focused on art. Then, after dismissal from the facility and reaching a point of safety and comfort in her body, she would do aerobic and strength training (with approval!) to rebuild lost strength and work towards a goal. She found this combination of art and physical fitness to be the sweet spot that unlocked the key to her recovery -- building herself up mentally and physically.  After almost entirely recovering from an eating disorder and rebuilding her life from the ground up, gaining back creativity and clarity in school and work, strength and leadership on her track team, and resilience and confidence in daily life, Domàni was born. She founded it in the hopes that she could show people how this worked for her, that she understands what they're going through, that they are not alone, and that everyone's journey looks different, no matter your body type, recovery timeline, race, gender, age, or anything else. We see you, and domani, meaning tomorrow, can always come again, as the start of something new.
